This week, we move on from the numbered Minor Arcana to the Court Cards of the tarot.  Let's start at the beginning with the Pages, the learners, beginners and dreamers of the tarot. 

What Are the Page Court Cards?

In tarot, the court cards are the royals of each suit, Page, Knight, Queen, and King. The Pages sit at the beginning of that hierarchy. They represent curiosity, new beginnings, and the early stages of learning. The Page is the apprentice, the student, the one who is just starting to figure things out.

There are four Pages, one for each suit,  Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles. Each one carries the energy of their suit, but filtered through the open and curious eyes of the beginner.

The Four Pages and What They Represent

Page of Wands is all fire and enthusiasm. This card is for new ideas, but we haven't quite worked out the details yet. Creative energy, big dreams and a willingness to try.

Page of Cups is the dreamer of the group. Emotionally open, imaginative and a little bit whimsical. When this card appears, it often signals a message from your intuition or an invitation to explore your feelings without judgment.

Page of Swords is sharp, curious and restless. This Page wants to know everything, ask all the questions, and challenge assumptions. Great for new intellectual pursuits, less great for sitting still.

Page of Pentacles is the most grounded of the four. Practical, studious and focused on building something real. This card is for starting a new project, course of study, or financial endeavour.

What Does It Mean When You Pull a Page?

Pages often signal that something is just beginning. A new phase, a new skill, a new way of thinking. They can also represent youth and young people, or a part of yourself that is still learning and growing.
